Ever feel like you are alone in your struggles? Story coaching is an invitation to journey alongside others and discover your own strength and resilience along the way. Through the process of telling the stories that shape who we are, discover the patterns of hurt and harm in your story, and the ways we choose to protect ourselves. Discover your own capacity for resilience.
No. Story Coaching is NOT therapy. Story coaching is the opportunity to allow someone to bear witness to your story and experience the kindness of having someone listen without judgment or advice. It is NOT therapeutic intervention, diagnosis or treatment.
Good question! A Level 1 story might be one that describes something that feels "uncomfortable" to share, but may be something that you have shared with others before. A Level 5 story might feel "hard to talk about", and might be something that only a few people even know about. A Level 10 story may fall in the category of things we were taught “never to speak about”. You may even feel like you are betraying others by telling the story. It may feel scary or even terrifying to find the words to communicate what happened.
Yes. Confidentiality is a necessary foundation for this work. Each participant and coach will explicitly agree to hold your story in the strictest of confidences.
Understandable! It can be a daunting thought to trust others with sensitive or vulnerable parts of our story. We recommend that you try a one-on-one coaching session and see if it’s for you.
